Carole Lester has served as the office manager of St. Noel Parish since 1991. In these years Carole has touched the lives of thousands of people not simply by her organization of parish mailings and reports, but through her daily personal interaction with parishioners in a helpful and welcoming manner. In her 20 plus years of ministry she has developed a comprehensive understanding of our parishioners and of what is required to keep our parish functioning smoothly. She has been an integral part of our parish staff, serving them as a colleague and friend.
This summer Carole informed me that she plans to retire at the end of June 2014. She will remain a part of St. Noel and desires to spend more time with her children and grandchildren.
We wish Carole the best in her retirement, but now in consultation with our staff and Finance Council, I am beginning a search to find a new office manager for our parish. The job is full-time with benefits. We are looking for a person with strong planning and organizational skills including basic accounting and record keeping. He or she will also require well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and be a highly self-motivated individual.
Most importantly, the candidate must be a person of service who is committed to support the work of our staff and to welcome all who visit our office. A full job description can be found on our parish website www.stnoel.org. Resumes should be submitted to me by February 1st. We hope to have our new office manager in place by April 2014, so that he or she might be able to work with Carole for several months.
I have also posted the job description on our diocesan website. The position is open to all qualified persons whether they be St. Noel parishioners or not. Please spread the word that we have begun this search. I can assure whoever chooses to apply that this job is an opportunity not only to work with our talented and positive staff and serve a wonderful parish but also to make a real contribution to promoting the Gospel of Christ.
