Weekly Bulletin 2/23/14

Dear Parishioner,

We have all experienced The St. Noel Concert Choir in a variety of musical settings. Now, get ready for something different! On Sunday, March 30th at 7:00 p.m. we would like to gather our parish community for a special contemplative prayer service entitled “Castle of the Soul.” St.Teresa of Avila told her sisters that “the soul is like a castle made of precious jewels, containing many interesting rooms, yet we can live our whole lives and never discover what it’s like inside.”

Written by Liam Lawton, Tony Alsonso and Chris deSilwa, “Castle of the Soul” leads us through this exciting journey. This music consists of songs mixed with readings from the texts of  St. Teresa of Avila, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, St. Francis de Sales, St. Augustine, Thomas Merton and Cardinal Leo Josef Suenens. They provoke us to ask the questions: Who are we? Where are we going? They remind us that “We can do no great thing, only small things with great love” and that “Christ has no body now but ours.”

The evening will be filled with music, dancing, candles, and meditations. We are convinced that it will be an engaging spiritual experience.  This service is open to all ages and is a great opportunity for our parish family to spend some time together in the middle of the Lenten Season.
