Catholic Relief Services

Catholic Relief Services, an organization of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, assists the poor and vulnerable overseas, working in the spirit of Catholic social teaching to promote the sanctity of human life and the dignity of all people. CRS works in over 100 countries to assist people of all backgrounds, working side by side with others so they can lift themselves out of poverty, assisting during emergencies and enabling people to build the resiliency they need to stand on their own.

At St. Noel, we will partner with Catholic Relief Services and Rise Against Hunger to feed the hungry in Burkina Faso, West Africa. You can help: Donate to help us reach our $5,000 goal needed pay for the food, shipping and services! Volunteer to pack that food into more than 10,000 meals on Saturday, January 25, 2020! Pray for the success of this event and the people who will be served!

Today, nearly one in nine people do not get enough food to be healthy and lead an active life. Consequently, hunger and malnutrition are the number one risks to health worldwide—greater than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. As Catholics, we cannot ignore this reality. Pope Francis urges us that, “Those who are nourished by the Bread of Christ cannot remain indifferent to those who do not have their daily bread.” As a Eucharistic people, we must confront the scandal of hunger. Distributing food is not the solution to hunger, but it eases suffering. CRS Helping Hands aims to permanently end hunger as well as ease suffering not only by providing food, but by funding projects that can lead to sustainability for the centers we serve.

Through your support, CRS Helping Hands ensures people in Burkina Faso learn innovative farming methods and skills so they can earn better incomes. Your generosity provides mental health services to people in distress, distributes food to vulnerable people and helps communities develop the knowledge and skills to build a future free from hunger.
