HERE’S A WRAP UP OF OUR JUNE 2ND NEIGHBOR to NEIGHBOR Meal

Wrap Up Picture

NEIGHBORS,

What a great group turned out for our 1st NEIGHBOR to NEIGHBOR Indoor Picnic. We are consistently serving close to 300 neighbors with room and food for more. While our number of diners is remaining consistent, we have seen fewer St. Noel neighbors at the last two meals. If you know someone who’s hesitant to check out just what’s happening on the 1st Thursday of every month. invite them to join us for a very special experience. If they are reluctant to come out for a free meal, remind them that they can make a donation to our Social Concerns Ministry either at the meal, in the collection, or at the office.

This month we did a trial run at a unique Handicap Section in the dining room. Our neighbors with mobility challenges will now be assured that they will be able to sit with their friends and family in a reserved section. And our handicap greeters will be able to easily locate those who need assistance in getting their dinner from the buffet. Many people were very happy to see this thoughtful accommodation being added. We will continue to refine this system in coming months.

We were able to share in the announcements that many of our neighbors have thanked us for the different kind of ‘feel’ we have created for our meal. Our vision is for this meal to be special; that’s why we have table cloths, napkins, china plates, silverware, and the beautiful decorations. We provide these amenities because this meal is special for us and we want it to be special for all the neighbors.

But this is a NEIGHBOR to NEIGHBOR Meal and YOU are the key to what will make the most special difference. That real difference is going to be the way we treat each other, and help each other, and love each other. So wear your nametags, call each other by name, go out of your way to do or say something kind to someone.  And remember, you’re never fully dressed without a smile.

Thank you all for setting the bar high. We are constantly amazed at all the smiles we see on your faces, no matter how hard you are working, what task you are doing, or who you are interfacing with. May God continue to bless us all as we seek to answer the call to Love.

Peace, Bill and Sharon Waltermire
