Daytime Retreat – Wednesday, October 3, 2018
Join us for our October 3rd Daytime Retreat, VULNERABILITY, ACCEPTANCE, & TRUST, which runs from 9:30 am until 2:30 pm on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. There will be a morning and afternoon prayer service, presentations on the topics and a delicious lunch prepared by Chef Randy.
Fran Armbruster’s morning presentation will focus on helping us learn to accept our vulnerabilities and work with God’s grace to become the person God created us to be in spite of our limitation; how we will benefit from giving up control in order to trust in God’s grace and action in our lives; and trusting that although we are imperfect, God is perfect and desires what is best for us. When we learn to go with the flow, a great load may be lifted from us spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Jesus said: “My yoke is easy, my burden light.” The path to holiness may not be easy but it just may be a lot easier when we put God in control than it is when we have to be the one in control. How many burdens is God asking us to carry and how many burdens does our ego tell us we must carry?
In the afternoon, Marilyn Wright will share from her wealth of experience with the Good Shepherd program a presentation on The Eucharistic Presence of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, who wants to be with his sheep in a particular way, giving all of himself to them/us.
Please sign up on the kiosk in the narthex or call the church office at 440-946-0887. We are always prepared for people who find out at the last minute that they can join us. There is no charge, but for those who are able, we suggest a donation of $6.00 to cover the cost of lunch.
It is good to come together as we travel our spiritual journeys, coming to know that we are the Beloved of God, mindful of the Spirit working in our lives, with others who also wish to move forward toward living in and from the True Self.
