Daytime Retreat – Wednesday, March 7th
Join us for our March 7th Daytime Retreat, EMBRACING THE UNEXPECTED: Its Graces and Challenges” which runs from 9:30 am until 2:30 pm on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. There will be a morning and afternoon prayer service, presentations on the topic, and a delicious lunch prepared by Chef Randy.
Life can be more than we bargain for. We all have thoughts about what our lives should be or will be. Sometimes our plans and dreams are turned upside-down.
St. Joseph was getting a different future than he thought he would get when he was engaged to Mary. Mary had to live with a need to be overly protect of Jesus as she accepted the great responsibility for her special child. Even Jesus got more than he signed up for – not only physical suffering and death but also the emotional suffering of rejection.
For us depression, giving birth to a child with serious special needs, losing a job, taking care of a sick parent or spouse, physical illness, aging, are all very difficult interruptions to any of our lives.
Fran Armbruster, Joyce Puin, and the Retreat Community will lead our conversation. Call Fran for further information – 440-625-1228.
Please sign up on the kiosk in the narthex or call the church office at 440-946-0887. We are always prepared for people who find out at the last minute that they can join us. There is no charge, but for those who are able, we suggest a donation of $6.00 to cover the cost of lunch.
It is good to come together as we travel our spiritual journeys, coming to know that we are the Beloved of God, mindful of the Spirit working in our lives, with others who also wish to move forward toward living in and from the True Self.
