Weekly Bulletin 8/31/14

Dear Parishioner,

Who doesn’t love donuts? Since the founding of St. Noel we have provided drop fresh donuts to enhance our social gathering after every weekend Mass. Children, almost universally, appreciate this custom. Adults, with the exception of those who rush home for a low-fat yogurt, also partake – often seeing the freshly baked confection as a foretaste of the eternal banquet in God’s Kingdom.

As rewarding as donuts are both physically and spiritually, they come with a price-tag. Our donuts, baked and delivered, cost the parish around $800 per month. We include a part of this in our yearly budget, but donation cans are provided to help offset the expense. Recently we have been collecting only about $240 a month. We would appreciate collecting a bit more.

So the next time you sink your teeth into one of our exceptionally fresh donuts, throw something into the donation can. The FEAST OF HEAVEN is free. The Donut Baker, however, must be paid.

Fr. George Smiga
