As you know five young people from our parish (Natalie Fullerman, Daniel Guban, Daria Pahoresky, Rebecca Pahoresky and Alex Welch), through your prayerful and generous support, participated in “Young Neighbors in Action.” This was a weeklong program in Chicago, June 25th-July 1st. I have asked Natalie to share with us her reflections on that week:
My name is Natalie Fullerman and I went on the Young Neighbors in Action trip this summer to Chicago. Our group from St. Noel volunteered with “Faith and Fellowship.” This is an organization that meets with people who have mental illnesses. It was such an amazing, wonderful, and memorable experience! I am so thankful to have found new friends in the partners we met. They taught me so much, especially to always remember to be joyful, energetic, and enthusiastic with everything that we do. Throughout the week, we participated in a variety of activities with “Faith and Fellowship” members. We got to speak with Deacon Tom Lambert and learn even more about the impact of mental illnesses on families. Another aspect of YNIA was to meet morning and night, before and after we went to the work sites. We did a variety of activities with the other students including prayer, singing, reflection, Mass, sharing our experiences with our new friends, recreation night, culture night, and a game simulation of society. This was an amazing week and experience where I learned a lot about myself, how to live my life, my faith, serving others and its importance, and standing in solidarity with the world and society around us. Thank you!
Fr. George Smiga

IF YOU’RE CURIOUS ABOUT THE CATHOLIC FAITH – or if you have thought about becoming a Catholic, our Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) might just be for you! Adults from all faith traditions or those with no religious background at all are welcome to participate in our gatherings. In the first phase of the RCIA process, no commitment is required. We simply meet in an informal atmosphere of conversation and sharing, where you will be free to ask any questions you may have about the Catholic Church, its traditions or worship, and discuss where God might be leading you. These sessions are designed so that your questions and experiences are paramount to our discussion. In addition, we will focus on what the Church teaches about the Bible, spirituality, and ways of expressing our faith. If you or someone you know might be interested in inquiring about the Catholic faith, please call the parish office at 440-946-088.
