Summer is a time when many who are homeowners address maintenance issues. The same is true for our parish. You are all aware of the capital improvements we have already made this year for the lighting in our sanctuary and the air-conditioning and heating for our church. This summer we plan to undertake more projects to repair and update our parish buildings. Another 22,000 square feet of our parking lot will be re-surfaced. The front windows of our Narthex and Banquet Center will be re-caulked and painted. The air conditioning unit in the rectory which was installed in 1991 has ceased to work effectively and will be replaced. The Nativity Room which is used regularly for parish meetings, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Bible Study, Daytime Retreats, and as a Bride’s Room for weddings, has not been updated since the Banquet center was built in 1988. It will receive new wall coverings and carpeting. All these projects will amount to $65,000. They will be included as part of our 2018-2019 budget.
These projects of necessary repair and upkeep can only happen because of your regular support of our parish through our offertory collections. Thank you as always for your support. Also, please remember your regular contributions when you are away on vacation this summer. We depend every week on your continuing gifts.
