You might have received the “survey” pictured here.  As the election nears, be prepared to receive material claiming to be Catholic.  Know that the Catholic Church does not endorse any particular candidate or political party.  Catholics, with a well-formed conscience, are free to vote for any candidate.  Anyone claiming differently is not correct.

Regarding the survey, CatholicVote.org is a conservative, non-profit political advocacy group based in the United States. While the organization acknowledges the authority of the Magisterium, it is independent of the Catholic Church. It had a stated a goal of “electing new pro-life and pro-family candidates to Congress and, of course, electing a pro-life candidate to the Presidency in 2012.”   Wikipedia

The US Bishops offer this advice: ” In the Catholic tradition, responsible citizenship is a virtue, and participation in political life is a moral obligation. As Catholics, we should be guided more by our moral convictions than by our attachment to any political party or interest group.   Faithful Citizenship
