Helping Hands was Awesome!!

Posted in: Social Justice

On Saturday, January 25, 2020, more than 90 excited volunteers filled our banquet center to participate in a meal-packaging event – Helping Hands –  organized through Catholic Relief Services and Rise Against Hunger.   Our coordinator, Joey Kelly, did a terrific job organizing all the materials and volunteers.  Amazingly, we packed 10,152 meals in about 90 minutes.

Thanks to our wonderful CRS ambassadors: Jed Trombley, Martie Matuska, Ed Mascha, Mary Artino, Karen Fraley & Bruce Fraley!

Thanks to all who donated to the event.  We raised $5,400 and covered all our expenses!

Thanks to Maribeth Joeright for her beautiful photography skills.

Helping Hands provides a short-term solution for starving people ravaged by cycles of drought and flood. The meals shipped to Burkina Faso will ease the suffering of people who are hungry. In addition, a portion of the funds raised through our event support projects that promote lasting, long-term change for the poor overseas.

Enjoy the pictures and pray for those who are hungry.  In the midst of our satisfaction, we know God wants better for His children.  Blessings to all who made Helping Hands a success!!
