Let There Be Peace
Our
peace prayer group meets every Sunday from 12:15 PM to 1:00
PM in the Visitation Room to pray for peace in our own personal
lives, our communities and in the world. We reflect on our
own struggles to be forgiving and peaceful people as well
as discussing situations in our country and around the globe
that are in need of peaceful resolution and healing. We share
information that we learn about other prayerful efforts in
the community to bring about peace through nonviolent means.
Different members of the group take responsibility for planning
our prayer and leading our sharing. We hope that you will
consider joining us!
Please watch the bulletin for other programs and events sponsored by our peace prayer and reflection group.
"Today,
the scale and horror of modern warfare - whether nuclear or
not - makes it totally unacceptable as a means of settling
differences between nations. War should belong to the tragic
past, to history; it should find no place on humanity's agenda
for the future." - Pope John Paul II
Buy-Once-Give-Twice
Boutique
This
boutique features vendors who sell items without "middleman"
costs so that more of the actual profit goes back to the farmer,
artist or crafts person, all of whom are people struggling
economically. Some example of items sold include jewelry,
plants, coffee, clothing, toys, and stationery.
Our next boutique will be in November of 2009.

St.
Noel Food Pantry
Our
food pantry services between 65 and 75 households per month
and is intended to provide emergency provisions to those who
are not able to purchase all the food they need in any given
month. Our assigned areas of service are Willoughby
Hills, Kirtland, Kirtland Hills, Waite Hill and Willoughby
south of Route 2. Of course we also serve any parishioners
who may be in need regardless of where they live.
New
clients should call 440-946-0887 to make an appointment for
an interview during which our services can be further explained
and eligibility for those services can be determined.
Our shelves are stocked by the generous monetary and food donations of our parishioners; food donations from our cluster partner, Divine Word; food donations from Harvest for Hunger and the Postal workers and other outside groups; and by the food we regularly purchase from the Cleveland Food Bank. Donations of soaps and paper
products for which we have a particular need and nonperishable
foods are always welcomed and gratefully received. Your contributions
can be brought to St. Noel anytime the Church is open.
"For
I was hungry and you gave me food. . . .whatever you did for
one of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did for me."
