Stewardship Snapshots -
Youth Ministries

The mission of the St. Noel Youth Ministry program is to provide, through presence, action and example, an opportunity for high school youth to experience the love of God through Jesus Christ and the Church.

Focus on the Fraley Family

Bruce and Karen Fraley and their daughters Megan and Danielle are involved in a variety of ministries including Prime Time, Social Justice Ministry, lectoring and most recently, the Bell Choir.  So it is fairly easy to catch them serving in at least one of these ministries on any given weekend.  This particular weekend (February 11) they helped the Youth Group at the pancake breakfast with their Chinese foreign exchange student, Wenjing Ji.

After joining the parish five years ago and finding a full time Youth Minister on staff, the Fraleys immediately became involved in the Jr. High Youth Group and more recently, Prime Time.  Megan went to Chicago two years ago where she worked in Misericordia with mentally challenged adults. Last year they both went to Toronto where they helped Canadian Food for Children sort through shoes. They also worked with Larch (a home for the mentally handicapped) in Toronto. Closer to home, they enjoy working with Anthony during the Christmas project and cleaning up yards for people. They like the fact that they don't meet at church all the time.  This kind of personal, active involvement, many times in a one-on-one situation, is what makes their faith more real to the girls.

When Anthony Camino was looking for Lectors about a year and a half ago, Megan volunteered.  With no fear of public speaking, she felt it would be another good way to become involved.  Both Megan and Danielle already play musical instruments, so when Elka White invited them to join the Bell Choir this year, it seemed like a natural fit.

With a desire to become involved in a "hands-on" way, Bruce and Karen joined the Social Justice Ministry where they were busy with things like a recycling project, Loaves and Letters and bringing speakers in. Most recently Social Justice has sponsored the Super Size Me & a movie for the adults and they've been working with the garden for St. Augustine's.
