The
members of the Pryor family have been parishioners at St. Noel since
the Fall of 1999. From the first time they came to mass and
heard the choir, they fell in love with the music and the sense
of community in the mass and wanted to be a part of it.
This
love of the mass along with the desire to do something for the church
led Jamie, Jennifer and Kristi to choose altar serving early the
following year. According to Jamie, "Our hope is that
the ministry will grow and more children, teens and adults become
altar servers. I want people to experience the same incredible closeness
to God that I feel when I'm setting the altar in preparation for
the gifts." The girls feel it's a great opportunity to serve
God and their church.
When
asked what has changed in them because of this ministry, the girls
had this to say, Jamie:"I find myself more at peace in life
and accepting of things I cannot change. In the fall I will be attending
Walsh, a Catholic University in North Canton. On campus there is
a new chapel, Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Because of altar serving
I plan to continue involvement in the mass at Our Lady by becoming
a Eucharistic Minister and a reader. During summer vacation I hope
to be a part of the mass at St. Noel. Altar serving has brought
me closer to God."
Jenny:
"I feel that my personal relationship with God outside of church
has deepened because of altar serving. I find myself praying more
often and thanking the Lord everyday for all I have in my life.
I listen to readings more intently and learn from the homilies.
I've come to realize what an important role God plays in my life."
We celebrate the Pryor sisters and thank them for sharing their
gifts with our community. Want to learn more about the servers or
