Clarence Bucaro has been a parishioner at St. Noel since 1999.  He started the Jail Ministry in 2001.  He explains that St. Noel shares this ministry at the Lake County Jail with St. Mary's of Painesville and St. Anthony's of Fairport.  Each Sunday evening they conduct a para-liturgical service and every third Tuesday offer a Bible sharing session.  With a population of 300-400 inmates they usually have 50-60 in attendance on Sundays and 20-30 on Tuesdays.

Inmates at the Lake County jail participate in the Sunday worship service.

He finds that some of the people show tremendous insight; especially at the Bible sharing sessions.  "If we show up it gives them the opportunity to take a Bible.  With nothing to do but read, it often results in some inspirational sessions for those so inclined.  I've grown and become more aware of marginal people and realize that they're God's people too."  The Jail Ministry also includes Joe and Ada Gornik, Ken Bollam, Gloria and Bob Ross, Kent Frisby and Sharon and Bob Wollen.

We celebrate Clarence Bucaro and his gifts and thank him for sharing them with our community. Want to learn more about the Jail Ministry or any other ministry? Call the parish office at 440-946-0887.
